Call for abstracts for the IMBER IMBIZO lV - Marine and
human systems: Addressing multiple scales and multiple
IMBER will hold the fourth in its IMBIZO* series at the Istituto
Nazionale di Oceanografia and Geofisica Sperimentale (OGS) in
Trieste, Italy from 27 to 30 October 2015. (* Zulu word for "a
IMBIZO lV will be bigger and better! The proven format of
concurrent and interacting workshops, with joint plenary and poster
sessions will be followed, but IMBIZO lV will have four, instead of
the usual three workshops. This format has been shown to provide an
excellent forum for stimulating discussion between
interdisciplinary experts, and encourage the linkage between
biogeochemistry, ecosystem and social science research. To optimize
participant interactions, the size of the workshops will be
restricted to 40 participants per workshop.

Each workshop will prepare a white paper or a special journal
issue containing synthesis and primary research papers resulting
from the workshop contributions and discussions.

On the day before the start of IMBIZO lV, several interactive
sessions, including scientific writing and publishing, how to write
funding proposals, and data management, will be organised.
